Storm Workouts

Since forming the team in January 07, Bodyflight Storm have been following a vigorous fitness routine to allow them to maximise and get the most out of their training jumps.

The team have been lucky enough to be able to work with and gain advice from Robert Weir who has represented Great Britain at the Olympics in Athletics, winning gold and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games.

The workouts devised for the team by Robert were to enable the team to work on the following:

  • increased leg strength
  • increase explosiveness
  • increase upper body strength
  • increased arm strength

The exercises use a range of gym equipment although where possible the team have looked at ways of improvising in case a gym isn’t available.

Attached are a couple of the workouts you may wish to try to help you become more prepared for your team training this year. We have tried to include photos to help with the explanations where possible.

If you have an injury, please be sure to consult professional advice before performing any of these exercises.

Workout number 1 (general all over workout)

Workout number 2 (leg intensive workout)

Workout number 3 (porter training prep)
